Job summary

Herc Rentals in Memphis is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet at customer sites. You will operate from a service vehicle, lead with device knowledge, and ensure equipment stays safe and reliable between visits.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, oil changes, tire and battery service, diagnosing heavy equipment, and communicating with customers. A valid driver’s license and on-call availability are required; pay ranges from $25 to $38+ per hour.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of repair on heavy equipment and schematics.
• Owns hand and air/electric tools.
• Able to be on call to support operational needs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at long-term customer job sites.
• Oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery service.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment on-site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Replace parts to return equipment to a safe operating state.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment.
• Analyze wear and address issues before next visit.
• Follow safety guidelines at active job sites.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Follow company field procedures and protocols.
• Build positive relationships with customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
