Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Technician- Pump, Power & HVAC to service equipment at customer job sites across Texas and surrounding regions. You will lead maintenance tasks, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on heavy equipment to ensure reliable performance.

The role requires on‑site work, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs and assorted services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems.
• Recondition and replace parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns.
• Analyze wear and tear and address issues before next visit.
• Adhere to safety guidelines at active job sites.
