Job summary

KLA is seeking a Customer Service Engineer to support highly complex capital equipment at customer sites. The role requires diagnosing issues, coordinating with customers, and ensuring minimal downtime while maintaining equipment performance.

The position involves significant travel and field work, with emphasis on problem solving, documentation, and collaboration with Installation Engineers. Local candidates in Beaverton/Hillsboro are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and troubleshoot problems in software and electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of Windows/Unix/Novell networking concepts and OS software.
• Comfort learning automation concepts and PM practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose highly complex capital equipment at customer sites or via phone.
• Coordinate action with customers to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
• Prepare quotes for customers based on labor, travel, and parts.
• Support installation engineers and share knowledge across the team.
• Spend ~50% of time at customer sites or cleanroom environments.
