Job summary

Bill Alexander Ford Lincoln is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the Facilities Manager in daily operations of our Des Moines facilities. You will help manage maintenance, safety, and vendor relationships, ensuring a safe, efficient workplace.

The role requires organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and collaboration with employees, contractors, and internal departments. This is a full-time contract position with an on-site work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in facilities management.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and vendor management.
• Experience coordinating contractors and facility projects.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and FM systems.
• Certifications such as FMP/CFM/IFMA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management and operation of facilities and workspaces.
• Support development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for systems and facilities.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and address issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for repairs and services.
• Monitor external contractors and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Assist with facility budgets, invoices, and service contracts.
• Maintain records for maintenance, assets, and vendor services.
• Support moves, space planning, and improvement projects.
• Respond to employee requests promptly and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and business continuity.
• Monitor inventory and procurement of facilities supplies.
• Support energy efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Prepare operational reports and updates.
