Job summary

Unisys Corporation is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center servers and hardware environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This is a hands-on server hardware and break/fix role, with diagnosis, repair, replacement, and maintenance of enterprise server hardware in data centers or customer sites.

Strong experience with enterprise servers and data center hardware is required; prior AI experience is not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers and data center hardware.
• Direct, hands-on experience working on server hardware in data centers or customer environments.
• Experience with memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, RAID/HBA, NICs, fans, GPUs.
• Experience with rack-mounted servers and server management tools.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for enterprise servers and hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform hands-on hardware installation, removal, replacement, and repair, including memory, CPUs, power supplies, drives, RAID, NICs, GPUs, and motherboards.
• Rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration.
• Troubleshoot issues involving server hardware, BIOS/firmware, OS, and hardware diagnostics.
• Update firmware and BIOS and use server management tools like iDRAC.
• Conduct reactive break/fix and preventive maintenance per procedures.
• Document service activities, replacements, and resolutions; escalate complex issues.
