Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced EH&S leader to enforce site safety on a major construction project. You will lead safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide project teams on environmental health and safety practices.

You will develop site-specific safety plans, conduct audits, review subcontractor programs, and mentor site teams to uphold Turner’s safety standards across all phases of the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field; minimum 4 years construction safety experience or equivalent
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications current
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations
• Ability to identify safety exposures and lead corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project, enforcing safety staffing per HQ policy
• Provide safety leadership and allocate time/resources to the project
• Develop action plans to mitigate risks and drive safety improvements
• Train project staff, subcontractors, and Turner Trade employees on EH&S programs
• Promote safe work practices in line with regulations and owner requirements
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance
• Conduct safety audits and document violations for immediate resolution
• Collaborate with project leadership to generate safety reports and metrics
