Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead site safety on a single project in Indianapolis, IN. You will partner with EH&S and project teams to enforce compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and lead training to educate on safe work practices.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in a safety-related field, CHST certification, OSHA 30, and ongoing certifications; travel is required; salary is commensurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training; maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, local EH&S regulations; lead corrective actions.
• Ability to identify exposures and guide risk mitigation; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and manage resources on site.
• Assess practices; develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks.
• Communicate safety requirements to leadership and teams.
• Monitor safety trends and drive incident-rate improvements.
• Develop site-specific safety training for management, employees, and subcontractors.
• Promote safe work practices in line with regulations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Hold preconstruction safety meetings; review risk mitigation.
• Record toolbox talks and safety audits; prepare reports.
• Collaborate to create safety reports and metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.
