Job summary

Turner Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to enforce site compliance on a single construction project within the SPO division.

You will lead training, oversee safety programs, and guide teams on regulatory requirements and best practices on an OHIO project. The role requires travel (60-70%), strong leadership, and collaboration with HQ EH&S to maintain zero citations and safe working conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Strong safety and environmental principles applied on construction projects.
• Ability to identify exposures and lead corrective actions.
• Experience with pre-task plans and subcontractor safety reviews.
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and allocate resources.
• Assess safety practices, develop action plans to mitigate risks.
• Communicate requirements to project leadership and teams.
• Develop site-specific safety training for management, employees, subcontractors, and Turner Trade employees.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Maintain relationships with project staff and subcontractor Safety Representatives.
• Review and enforce safety programs and policies.
• Identify unsafe actions and implement corrective actions.
• Lead Preconstruction safety meetings and review risk mitigation plans.
