Qualifications

• 2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating environment and ability to run system administration commands
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networks, Layer 1-3 switching, routing, and cabling
• Basic scripting in common languages for admin tasks (BASH, Python, Perl)
• Familiarity with using AI tools or prompts to assist in generating CLI commands and logs
• Physical ability to lift hardware and perform data center tasks on-site
• Ability to work on-site at the Lockport, NY facility and participate in 24x7x365 shifts

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair rack-mount servers, storage units, and network equipment in a 24x7 data center
• Prioritize incoming requests by business urgency and platform impact
• Diagnose hardware, L1-3 network, and system issues across multiple infra disciplines
• Leverage AI-assisted log analysis to isolate faults and speed MTTR
• Identify repetitive tasks and automate workflows with AI code/scripts
• Deploy operating systems, update DNS records, configure switches, and provision hosts
• Collaborate with site engineering and platform teams on complex changes
• Provide incident updates to internal customer contacts
• Evaluate emerging AI tools to improve speed and accuracy
• Execute swing and overnight shifts as part of rotation
