Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Controls & IT Systems Engineer in Duncansville, PA, to design, implement, and improve industrial control systems, OT and IT infrastructure, and business systems. The role partners with manufacturing, automation, and corporate IT to deliver secure, reliable operations and data-driven improvements.

You will lead projects across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud integration, driving digital transformation and standardized engineering practices across site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Computer/Systems engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in industrial controls, automation, systems engineering, or IT.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and industrial networks.
• Proven project management and troubleshooting via logical problem solving and RCA.
• Proficient understanding of IT systems, networks and devices.
• Cyber Security Awareness.
• Professional communication, leadership and integrity.
• Proficient Controls and Networking Experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, and industrial control systems.
• Support manufacturing equipment, automated production lines, and process control systems.
• Develop and maintain control system documentation, electrical schematics, and network drawings.
• Lead automation projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
• Analyze equipment performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support machine integration, data collection, and Industry initiatives.
• Design and maintain reliable systems architecture supporting manufacturing and business operations.
• Manage system performance, software deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.
• Develop standards for system configuration, maintenance, and documentation.
• Support integration between production equipment, business systems, and cloud platforms.
• Manage, support and maintain network infrastructure, servers, workstations, data backup and cloud-based services.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Support ERP, MES, CMMS, SAP, Microsoft 365 and other business-critical applications.
• OT & Industrial Networking: support Ethernet networks, switches, wireless, and plant-floor communications.
• Monitor system health and implement performance improvements.
