Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process controls, or manufacturing systems.
• 8+ years of experience in leading and mentoring technical staff.
• Paper manufacturing experience preferred.

• Design, program, implement, optimize and support PLC, DCS, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, drives, and industrial networks.
• Lead automation projects and improvements from planning through commissioning and start-up.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and production support as site expert for automation issues.

The role…

The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle support of industrial control systems and instrumentation of Distributed Control Systems for the facility's continuous board manufacturing equipment. instrumentation of Distributed Control Systems and automated machinery in our Middletown, Ohio facility. This position serves as the technical expert for control systems supporting board machine and other continuous process equipment directly involved in manufacturing.

How You’ll Make An Impact…

• Manage and support plant control systems: Design, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, drives, motors, and industrial networks supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations.
• Lead automation projects and improvements: Manage control system upgrades, machine automation, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives from planning and installation through commissioning and startup.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and production support: Serve as the site technical expert for complex automation issues, provide on-call support when needed, and work with Operations and Maintenance to resolve equipment and process problems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field required.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process controls, or manufacturing systems; paper manufacturing experience preferred. 8+ years leading and providing technical training and mentoring skills.
