Job summary

Electrical Automation Services seeks a skilled Controls Engineer for its Glendale, AZ plant. On-site role writing and troubleshooting ladder logic for Allen-Bradley PLCs on high-speed beverage filling/packaging lines, collaborating with operations and maintenance.

Requires 4+ years in industrial automation, ability to read schematics, Tier 1/2 support, and leading automation projects. 12-hour day shifts, relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming, not just troubleshooting: write and modify ladder logic yourself, ideally Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix in Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
• 4+ years of industrial automation or controls experience on high-speed production lines.
• Strong troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo/motion, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP).
• Willingness to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 day rotation, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and industrial-network issues and restore production safely.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Maintain PLC and HMI program backups, drawings, and change records.
