Job summary

Argo Group in Omaha is seeking a production underwriter responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business in a 100% in-office role. You will work on-site with brokers to gather risk details, price policies, and maintain underwriting files, focusing on profitability and growth.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in insurance underwriting, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three-plus years related insurance experience.
• Three years underwriting experience with authority.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies to verify acceptability under guidelines.
• Utilize underwriting tools to determine classifications, rates, and premium charges.
• Interact with brokers in person, by email and by phone to obtain risk details.
• Manage assigned portfolio in underwriting territory and monitor broker performance.
• Create, analyze, and interpret data from reports/dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analysis and maintain files.
• Resolve audit disputes within the territory.
• Review state laws for cancellations and non-renewals in territory.
• Participate in departmental educational sessions.
