Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter to market, underwrite and process assigned lines of business in a fully in-office role. You will price policies, determine rates, and interact with brokers to negotiate terms and explain positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three-plus years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies to verify acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and authority.
• Utilize underwriting tools to determine classifications, rates, and premium charges.
• Interact with brokers to obtain risk details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.
• Manage assigned portfolio in underwriting territory, including performance of brokers.
• Create, analyze, and interpret data from reports/dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analysis and maintain underwriting file.
• Resolve audit disputes within territory.
• Review state laws including cancellation and non-renewal.
• Participate in educational sessions within the department.
