Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a production underwriter responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business. This is a 100% in-office position; candidates must work on-site during standard business hours at a designated company office.

Essential duties include reviewing and pricing policies, using underwriting tools, negotiating with brokers, managing the portfolio's performance, and creating data reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three+ years related insurance experience required.
• Experience underwriting with authority, preferably FI lines.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail oriented, independent, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies according to underwriting guidelines.
• Use underwriting tools to determine classifications, rates and charges.
• Interact with brokers in person, by email, and by phone to obtain risk details and negotiate terms.
• Manage assigned portfolio and monitor broker performance (GWP, loss ratio).
• Create and interpret data from reports and dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analyses and maintain files.
• Review state laws for transactions within the territory.
