Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to manage safety on a Columbus, OH construction project. You will enforce EH&S programs, train staff on safe work practices, and guide project teams in handling environmental and hazardous materials reports and conditions.

You will develop and implement safety plans, monitor regulatory compliance, and lead site safety audits to reduce incidents while supporting project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED current.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and lead corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and allocate time/resources.
• Assess safety practices and exposures; develop risk mitigation plans.
• Communicate requirements to project leadership for adherence.
• Develop site-specific safety training for management, employees, subcontractors, and Turner Trade staff.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety reps.
• Develop and enforce the project Safety Program and related policies.
