Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to support project execution through contract setup, administration, and field coordination on construction projects. This role involves maintaining PMIS data, preparing bid packages, managing submittals and RFIs, and supporting permit processes on site.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
• 1+ years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
• 1+ years' experience with project close out.
• Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Engineering, or similar or 8 years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• The Project Engineer supports project execution through contract setup, project administration, and field coordination to help ensure successful delivery of construction projects.
• Keeps project data in the PMIS, prepares bid packages, manages submittals and RFIs, supports the permit process, and maintains accurate project documentation on the life of the project.
• Regularly on site to monitor construction activities, inspect material deliveries, attend production and safety meetings, and coordinate among the project team, client, trade contractors, and design partners.
• Helps track schedule progress, material deliveries, trade contractor installation, QA/QC compliance, procurement activities, and change management efforts, and supports project close-out.
