S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our New Albany, IN team. You'll test concrete, soils, and asphalt on active construction sites, gain hands-on training, and grow with a 100% employee-owned company.

This full-time role is outdoors, with early mornings, travel and overtime as needed. We emphasize safety, mentorship, and career development, plus competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector are highly preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant field/tech experience or equivalent with an associate degree for Technician II/III levels.

Responsibilities

• Field and laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample collection and preparation for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
