Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician for its Lexington, KY construction services team. The role focuses on hands-on field and lab testing of concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates to ensure quality and safety on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector are strongly preferred.
• Experience or leadership/mentoring experience is a plus for Technician IV.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: perform testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: interpret results and prepare detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
