Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician for our Lexington, KY Construction Services team. You will work on active construction sites, perform field and lab testing on concrete, soils, and asphalt, and participate in mentoring and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Associate Technician/Technician I: 0-2 years relevant experience.
• Technician II/III/IV: increasing years of experience with associate degree or higher.
• Active certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I or ICC Special Inspector are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and preparing reports.
• Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
