Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join the New Albany, IN field team. You’ll perform field and lab testing on concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates, collecting samples and helping prepare reports under guidance from engineers.

Based on experience, you’ll have opportunities for leadership, ongoing training, and mentorship in a 100% employee-owned firm with strong safety standards and career growth across geotechnical and construction materials projects.

Qualifications

• Field and laboratory testing of construction materials including concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and compiling detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: perform testing on construction materials.
• Sample Collection & Prep: collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: interpret results and prepare reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
