Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our New Albany, Indiana construction services team. This hands-on, outdoor role tests concrete, soils, and asphalt to ensure quality and safety on active project sites, from local eateries to major venues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, Laboratory Technician and ICC Special Inspector are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: Perform field and laboratory testing on concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: Collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: Work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and safety guidelines.
