Job summary

Stenger & Stenger is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the planning, development, and ongoing improvement of business applications, software integrations, and workflow automation. You will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and software teams, translating operational needs into clear requirements and ensuring alignment across the full software development lifecycle.

The role is in-office, located in Grand Rapids, MI, with no remote option.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Experience supporting software-development, application-implementation, system-integration, or workflow-automation projects.
• Experience using business-process modeling tools (Visio, draw.io).
• Able to gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements.
• Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Familiar with SDLC practices from requirements to production support.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Document current challenges, objectives, workflows, and technology needs with stakeholders.
• Facilitate clear written and verbal communications across teams.
• Differentiate essential requirements from enhancements for MVP.
• Create clear business/functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Define scope including objectives, users, data, integrations, and constraints.
• Assist in backlog refinement, scoping, and releases clarification.
• Analyze data sources, interfaces, dependencies, and validation rules.
• Ensure solutions meet documented requirements and intended outcomes.
• Support implementation planning, change management, and user training.
• Maintain solution documentation throughout its lifecycle.
• Participate in post-implementation reviews and identify improvements.
• Consider security, privacy, access control, and regulatory requirements.
