Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an on-site Operating Engineer for a 800,000 sq ft Class A office in Washington, DC. The role supports operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems within a seven-person engineering team.

The position requires 5+ years in related work, universal CFC EPA certification, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30 feet. On-site schedule is 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday with rotating on-call.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ladder use up to 30 feet; frequent bending, kneeling and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks like painting, pressure washing, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance.
• Maintain the work order system daily and respond to tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Support on-call or emergency response when needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in training programs.
• Assist on other projects as assigned.
