Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated, doing business as JLL, seeks an Operating Engineer to support maintenance of base building systems including HVAC, electrical, and life safety in a government facilities environment. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to coordinate with contractors in Reston/Chantilly area.

Work hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, on-site with responsibilities spanning preventive maintenance, monitoring, and on-call support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years in electrical or HVAC/refrigeration trade.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to work safely using PPE.
• Physical ability to walk, climb, bend, lift, and overhead work.
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain facility systems per regulations and safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Monitor building equipment performance and adjust for efficiency.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Conduct facility inspections and enforce safety protocols.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractor work to ensure quality and cost expectations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and holiday support.
