Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to support operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems in a 1.7 square foot office/retail building in Washington, DC. You’ll join an engineering team of six with an on-site presence.

Shift Monday through Friday, 1:30pm to 10:00pm on-call rotation. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and safety compliance, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, maintenance of lighting systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance.
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspection tasks.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable).
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with safety procedures.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
