Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Washington, DC is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, under the guidance of senior engineers.

This 100% in-office role requires 2–3 years of related experience or trade certifications, valid licenses as required, and BAS knowledge; you will respond to tenant needs, perform routine tasks, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related building engineering experience or valid trade certification.
• Licenses as required by local/state/national regulations; CFC preferred.
• Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; BAS knowledge helpful.
• Proficient with MS Outlook and work-order software for task tracking.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address tenant service requests and respond to hot/cold calls.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate when needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Follow safety protocols and OSHA/NFP regulations; use PPE.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; assist senior engineers.
