Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Arlington, VA seeks a Building Engineer I to maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and support senior engineers. This role is in-office during standard hours with on-call rotations.

You must have 2–3 years of relevant experience, relevant licenses, and familiarity with BAS. OSHA compliance and safe work practices are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant building engineering experience.
• Engineering or trade licenses required per local/state/national rules.
• CFC Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate to maintain issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards immediately and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; handle urgent tenant service requests and support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work closely with senior engineers and technicians.
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical skills; participate in professional development programs.
