Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I for an in-office role in Arlington, VA. You will maintain and troubleshoot building systems, respond to tenant requests, and work under senior engineers to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The position emphasizes routine maintenance, record-keeping, and collaboration with property managers and contractors. On-call duties and safety compliance are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate to senior staff when needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections and assist with preventive maintenance and contractor oversight.
• Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and comply with OSHA/NFC/NFPA regulations.
