Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I in Herndon, VA, to maintain and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, under supervision. You will respond to tenant requests, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations during standard business hours in-office and on-site.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, record-keeping, safety protocols, and interaction with tenants and contractors.

Qualifications

2–3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
CFC Certification preferred.
Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate to maintain issues as needed.
Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
