Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and ensure safety and reliability under supervision.

The role requires 2–3 years of related experience, relevant licenses, and BAS familiarity. 100% in-office with on-call rotations and OSHA-compliance duties. Benefits include health coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering/trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and expand issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards immediately and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; handle urgent tenant service requests and support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work closely with senior engineers and technicians.
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical skills; participate in professional development programs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
