Job summary

Transwestern is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer in Bellaire, TX to perform maintenance, repairs and inspections across plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. You will work under the Chief Engineer to ensure reliable building operations and compliance with client requirements.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, energy management and timely response to emergencies, with on-site duties and no remote options. A strong focus on safety and efficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years related experience or trade school training.
• Minimum 2 years building maintenance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance and repair.
• CFC certification preferred or working toward certification and/or license; valid driver license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains and HVAC.
• Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Maintain all equipment as required per preventive maintenance programs.
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed.
• Maintain an energy management program to operate systems efficiently and minimize costs.
