Transwestern Houston is seeking an Apprentice Building Engineer to perform maintenance, repairs and keep systems running.

Under the Chief Engineer, you will handle work orders, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and grounds; on-site, first shift. The role emphasizes energy management and safety, with a focus on timely response to issues. A minimum of 2 years of related experience and a GED are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of related building maintenance experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred or pursuing certification.
• Valid driver license may be required.
• Knowledge of energy management systems and building automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofs).
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and grounds.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing for proper operation.
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with supervisor.
• Maintain energy management programs to reduce operating costs.
• Climb ladders and lift heavy equipment as needed.
