Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Missouri to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and controls. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and energy efficiency, with on-site work Monday–Friday and occasional on-call shifts.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, system inspections, and repairs to boilers, chillers, and related equipment. A high school diploma or trade schooling plus 4–5 years of experience is required, along

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or trade school diploma required, with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Universal EPA certification preferred; other facilities-type certifications may help.
• Experience with plant maintenance (boilers & chillers) and solid mechanical/plumbing skills.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, climbing stairs/ladders, 50 lb+ lift).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and basic arithmetic for financial calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and control systems to keep facilities up to standards.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems run efficiently.
• Support preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Review building systems like fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing for reliability.
• Share expertise and lead by example within the team.
