Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Building Engineer to monitor building system operations, including plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and safety systems.

The role covers preventive maintenance, repairs, and adherence to applicable codes and safety standards. The candidate will implement energy management practices, support preventive maintenance initiatives, and ensure the facility complies with client requirements and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required; combination with experience considered.
• Meet the physical requirements (stooping, standing, walking, stairs, lifting 50 lbs+).
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience and good judgment.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset and attention to detail.
• Advanced math skills for calculating percentages, fractions, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems; keep systems up to standards as assigned.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with implementing preventive maintenance; perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Review inspections of fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operations meet design specs.
