Job summary

Orion Marine Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide project engineering management support on on-site marine and heavy civil projects. This role involves estimating costs, procuring materials, interpreting plans, and coordinating with customers and field teams across the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience and is able to travel and work out of town for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering/Construction Science or related field and 4+ years of experience.
• Experience in marine/construction management, self-perform operations, and coordinating with field teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Project Management Team to ensure successful completion and profitability of projects.
• Provides management guidance to Superintendents and Foremen on current marine construction projects.
• Supports planning and execution of self-perform marine/heavy civil work, coordinating labor, equipment, materials, schedules, and requirements.
• Assists in developing bid proposals for upcoming projects and ensures timely submission.
• Estimates costs for upcoming projects including materials, services, labor, and equipment.
• Procures materials and services from suppliers as needed.
• Interprets project plans and specs for customers and suppliers.
• Schedules project work activities to meet timelines.
• Interacts with project team members, suppliers, and customers.
• Willing to travel to active sites and work out of town for extended periods.
