Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on diverse field projects. You will capture data on-site, process it in Artec Studio, and deliver scan-to-CAD outputs and reports for clients, with travel to regional hubs as needed.

You should have hands-on scanning experience, CAD-reading ability, and the stamina for outdoor work on active construction sites. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects; bring examples.
• Working knowledge of scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and reading structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; able to travel by air/ground with equipment.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD and metrology reporting is a plus; certifications are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of sites and structures before concrete placement and for existing facilities.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlap strategies.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving each job.
• Process scans in Artec Studio; register, fuse, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, crack maps, and coordinate reports against drawings.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) or hand-clean meshes for modeling team.
• Document capture procedures, equipment settings, and chain of custody for forensic matters.
• Keep scanner, batteries, and calibration records organized; coordinate access and safety with site contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned; participate in project-based staffing.
