Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on active construction sites, capture data, and deliver scan-to-CAD outputs. You will verify data on-site, process in Artec Studio, and produce CAD-ready meshes and reports for clients.

Ideal candidates have hands-on scanner experience, the ability to read drawings, and are willing to travel to regional hubs. A valid driver’s license is required; certifications are a plus and sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects.
• Familiarity with Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software.
• Ability to read structural/fabrication drawings (SolidWorks, Revit, etc.).
• Comfort on active construction sites and ability to carry equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
• Willingness to travel to regional hubs.
• Certifications like ACI/ICC a plus; sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
