Job summary

Syracuse University seeks an ITS Instructional Technology Engineer to design, support, and enrich the student learning experience with on‑campus collaboration across 165+ rooms and 300+ classrooms. You will lead AV projects, provide guidance to faculty and staff, and ensure reliable operations for hybrid and online classes.

Required are a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in IT/CS, strong communication, project management, and expertise in AV systems and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3+ years in information technologies or computer science.
• Strong communication, project coordination, and technical design skills.
• Experience with classroom AV, video distribution, and hybrid teaching environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement technology based on design standards for learning spaces and labs.
• Coordinate with engineers, facilities, and academic units for projects.
• Provide project coordination for instructional technology initiatives.
• Deliver operational and technical support for classroom spaces and labs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot classroom AV and computer systems for hybrid/online teaching.
• Set up and monitor AV equipment and printing infrastructure.
• Instruct users and supervise student employees supporting services.
• Keep skills current and advise teams on emerging trends.
• Occasional travel to SU remote campuses to support classroom systems.
