Job summary

Syracuse University seeks a Computer Consultant II to provide advanced technical support across systems, applications, and devices for ~200 divisional staff. You will handle help desk requests via Jira, deploy devices, and manage mobile and AV equipment for events in a distributed campus environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong Windows and mobile device support, and experience with Zoom/Teams for hybrid events, with some non-business hours for events and updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Experience in teaching, consulting, and using a suite of software tools including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.

Responsibilities

• Respond to end user support requests via Jira in a timely manner.
• Build, test, install and deploy IT equipment for new and current users.
• Support platform implementations, software upgrades and major events.
• Manage shared server environments and apply access policies using PowerShell.
• Coordinate and train new employees as part of onboarding.
