Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Boston is seeking an On-Call Steward to join our Food and Beverage team. This role maintains the cleanliness of hotel china, silverware, glassware, service ware and cookware within the Stewarding Department in Boston, MA.

The position reports to the Sous Chef. Candidates should have 2+ years in luxury hospitality, excellent English, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds while maintaining flexibility for on-call shifts in evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a similar position preferred in luxury hospitality
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
• Ability to walk and stand for entire shift
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds repeatedly
• On-call availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Wash all hotel china, silverware, glassware, service ware, and cookware
• Ensure cleanliness of all serving pieces and related cookware/tools
• Maintain cleanliness of Food and Beverage equipment and areas
• Sort waste into proper streams for disposal, recycling, and composting
• Transport dishes, glassware, and serving pieces throughout the hotel as directed
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
