Job summary

Avenue5 Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Arlington, VA property. You will address apartment and property maintenance duties under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor and property manager while upholding top-tier customer service and curb appeal.

Responsibilities include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance; proactive preventative maintenance; and timely work order completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least one year of experience in the property management industry or related field.
• General maintenance and general carpentry skills.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance as directed by supervisor.
• Carry out carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and tile repair.
• Conduct preventative maintenance such as painting, lighting, and safety inspections.
• Maintain the work order system and ensure timely completion to meet standards and resident satisfaction.
• Assist with property emergencies (snow, fires, floods) and communicate issues to leadership.
• Promote safety and risk management per company policies and regulations.
• Participate in after-hours emergency maintenance, adhering to response times.
• Foster positive relationships with residents and partners; ensure professional demeanor.
