Job summary

Save the Children in Ripley, TN is seeking a Program Aide on call/Substitutes to support infants, toddlers and preschoolers with educational, relational and social activities. The role reports to the Education & Inclusion Manager or Center Director and may involve travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities include classroom and activity support, basic janitorial tasks, and daily operations while ensuring safety and confidentiality in line with Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as applicable by Head Start or childcare regulations.
• Within 90 days of employment, obtain and maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basics of working with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to relate sensitively with children and communicate with staff, parents and families.
• Ability to follow directions and take initiative.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding families.

• Organize time and manage tasks effectively.
• Keep supervisor informed of important issues.
• Build relationships with children, families and staff.
• Carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
• Assist classroom staff in activities and substitute as needed.
