Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking reliable kitchen staff on an as-needed basis to support serving lines, food preparation, and daily operations in our school meal programs.

Our pay rates vary by state and position, and we operate across 10 states. The role requires following recipes, maintaining HACCP and safety procedures, using a variety of kitchen equipment, and helping with setup, serving, inventory, and cleanup as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; basic writing skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at proper temperatures.
• Assist in preparation of foods per menu plan and Opaa! recipes; plan and prep ahead for next day menus.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO inventory.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes; stock coolers.
• Prepare breads, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods as required by the menu plan; present to customers.
• Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation.
• Set up serving/bar lines and ensure appropriate portions and utensils.
• Maintain food safety records and comply with HACCP and HHFKA/CACFP regs.
• Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety programs.
