Job summary

Opaa! is seeking reliable kitchen staff on an as-needed basis to support serving lines, food prep, and cleanliness in our school food program. The role requires adherence to recipes, proper use of equipment, and maintaining safe food temperatures for customers.

Responsibilities include batch cooking, inventory checks, and presenting meals appealingly, with emphasis on teamwork and adherence to Opaa!’s core values and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred; or up to one month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and follow recipes.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness.
• Commitment to accurate food handling and FIFO inventory practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; batch cook and present items appealingly.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO stock.
• Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas and monitor inventory levels.
