Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is seeking dependable kitchen staff on an as-needed basis in Illinois.

The role involves setting up serving lines, cooking, and maintaining HACCP-compliant food safety and quality across school districts. Pay ranges from $15 to $16 per hour and varies by district. Responsibilities include batch cooking, food preparation, inventory checks, and operating kitchen equipment with proper certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure proper food temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes; batch cook for quality and presentation.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and restock items as needed.
• Handle cash register tasks and ensure only reimbursable meals pass through POS.
