Job summary

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Technology & Facilities Support Specialist (PRN) to provide on-call, part-time support with an 80/20 IT/facilities emphasis.

The role focuses on maintaining IT systems, networks, cameras, and security, while performing routine building and grounds tasks as needed. Candidates must work independently, respond to priority needs, and follow safety and CJIS policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; IT-related coursework or degree preferred.
• Associates degree in IT or related field preferred; relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Prior IT support, systems administration, or law-enforcement technology experience preferred.
• Basic electrical experience and safe use of electrical tools required.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting camera systems required; security/camera experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and related devices.
• Monitor performance and help resolve outages and connectivity issues.
• Provide technical support to deputies, dispatchers, corrections staff, and admin.
• Manage lifecycle and inventories of IT assets and licenses.
• Install and maintain operating systems and endpoint software used by the Sheriff’s Office.
• Administer MDTs and mobile devices in patrol and agency vehicles.
• Install and troubleshoot security cameras and related systems and components.
• Perform structured cabling and low-voltage work for data, camera, and access systems.
• Assist with cybersecurity controls, backups, and disaster-recovery activities.
• Follow CJIS security requirements and other applicable policies.
• Provide basic staff instruction on hardware/software usage.
• Document configurations and significant technology issues.
• Perform building-maintenance tasks and minor electrical work as needed.
• Assist with facilities projects and weather-related support.
• Travel to various sites may be required.
