Job summary

Manatee County Sheriff's Office is seeking an IT Support role to assist users with agency technology, install, troubleshoot, and configure computer systems, and manage service desk inquiries. This position emphasizes accurate recordkeeping and effective communication with colleagues, vendors, and the public.

The role requires a related degree or equivalent experience, Florida driver license, and IT certifications planned within probation.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in related field required.
High school diploma or GED with 2 years technology experience accepted in lieu of Associate’s Degree.
1 year experience in field of technology required.
Valid Florida driver license required.
Must pass MCSO 8-hour Driver Improvement Course.
Must attain ITIL Foundations, and HDI Support Center Analyst certifications within one year probationary period
CompTIA certification, ITIL experience and Networking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise to maintain agency IT efficiency and service delivery.
Communicate with colleagues, vendors and civilians to solve technical problems.
Develop project plans and business cases for new projects and rollouts.
Document changes to software/hardware using SOPs and instructional materials.
Respond to Service Desk inquiries and troubleshoot to restore operations promptly.
