Anthropic is seeking an Incident Response Manager to serve as the operational backbone for incident handling, ensuring the right people, information, and actions are in the room during high-stakes events.

You will write runbooks, lead on-call responses across engineering, product, security, legal, and leadership, and drive blameless post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence, with a focus on speed, clarity, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience leading incident response programs in high-growth environments.
• Ability to operate without pre-written playbooks and build runbooks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the incident response function with processes, tooling, and standards.
• Act as on-call incident commander during high-severity incidents.
• Coordinate cross-functional responses with engineering, security, legal, and leadership.
• Own incident communications end-to-end, including status pages and customer updates.
• Lead blameless incident reviews and drive remediation to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain scalable incident response policies and escalation frameworks.
• Continuously improve detection, response, and learning from incidents.
