Job summary

Anthropic in the United States is seeking an Incident Response Manager to become the operational backbone for handling incidents. You’ll ensure the right people are engaged, information flows, and nothing falls through the cracks in high-stakes situations.

You’ll write runbooks and lead responses when playbooks don’t exist. Collaborating with engineering, product, security, legal, and leadership, you’ll drive timely remediation while upholding safety, transparency, and accountability throughout

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in incident management.
• Built or significantly shaped an incident response program.
• Ability to lead under pressure and own decisions.
• Comfort with undefined processes and rapid change.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with engineering, security, legal, and leadership.
• Experience conducting blameless incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build the incident response function, defining processes, tooling, and standards.
• Act as on-call incident commander during incidents of varying severity.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to bring order to fast-moving incidents.
• Own incident communications internally and externally, including status pages and customer outreach.
• Lead blameless reviews and drive remediations to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with engineering to develop scalable incident policies and escalation frameworks.
• Collaborate with product, security, legal, and go-to-market to improve detection and response.
